San Antonio is home to over 185,000 active-duty military personnel and veterans, making up approximately 16.7% of the population! Veterans alone comprise approximately 11% of the city population.

Nationwide, it is estimated that over 65,000-70,000 veterans need a service animal to assist with PTSD and other ailments. These animals require special training to be able to assist their veteran companions. This training, coupled with adoption costs, can be $5,000 to upwards of $50,000 for highly specialized training.

Velvet Realty Group is committed to supporting our veterans by donating 3% of our commission for the year 2024 to Sierra Delta, a non-profit organization that offers service dog training grants and general support to veterans around the nation.
